What are your opening times?
Tues – Fri 12 noon – 3pm & 6pm – 12pm. Saturday 11am – 12pm. Sunday 12noon -11pm. We are closed on Mondays except for Bank Holidays. During the cricket season we are open all day on Friday.
Is there live music at The Chequers?
Yes we host a variety of music events throughout the year including a series of popular cabaret tribute acts evenings. See our events section to see what is coming up.
Is the restaurant available for private hire?
Yes, we can host weddings, special occasions (40th birthdays, anniversaries), christenings and corporate functions in our restaurant. We feature a Group Dining Menu for large groups whereby you select 5 dishes from the seven main courses available and also five desserts from our dessert menu to create your bespoke menu for your party.

Are larger parties catered for?
Yes, depending on the format of your event we can seat up to 80 people. See our venue hire section for more details.
Do you serve brunch?
We serve brunch on Saturdays only from 11.am until 1.30pm in addition in our usual menu options. A selection of brunch drinks are also available.
Do you sell gift vouchers?
Yes we sell gift vouchers, they are available in any amount and can be used toward either lunch or dinner. Vouchers are valid for a 12 months from date of purchase. Buy either via telephone by calling 01279 731 276 or direct from the restaurant.
Are children welcome?
Yes, we welcome children however please note due to Licensing Laws, children are not allowed in the bar area after 9pm. Highchairs are available. Check out our Children’s menu.
Do you do outside catering?
Yes we cater for all types of corporate and private events.
Is vegetarian food available?
Yes, there is at least one vegetarian option with every course.
Is the restaurant air conditioned?
Yes (and in winter we have a lovely log fire)
Has provision been made for wheelchairs users?
Yes we have disabled access. Our front entrance, bar, disabled bathroom and dining room are all on one level. Although the terrace and some parts of the garden are difficult to navigate, please do call ahead so we can make your visit as hassle free as possible.
Is parking provided?
We have a car park alongside the pub and restaurant. There is no charge for parking. There is also off-road parking.

We accept cash, cheque and all major credit cards.
